Thursday, May 3rd Agenda

Yesterday, we took a test on the causes of the Civil War. Schedule a make up with me ASAP if you were absent.

1. Warm-up: DSTP Question
2. Discuss: Abraham Lincoln & Attack on Fort Sumter
3. Group Work: Newspaper
--In your group, you will create a newspaper for April 13, 1861 - the day after the first shots of the Civil War were fired. Your newspaper must consist of a headline, a feature article describing the event, a political cartoon, and an editorial. Your newspaper will have a certain bias based on its nature. For example, you may choose to be an abolitionist newspaper, a southern newspaper, a Republican newspaper, or a newspaper from a "border state" such as Delaware. The deadline is the end of class, so work quickly!
