2. Read “The War’s Leaders” pp. 488-489 Textbook
3. Read “Choosing Sides” pp. 76-79 in Hakim
4. Create a fictional character who must decide whether to side with the North or with the South. Describe who he is, where he is from, etc. and make sure you include the reasons for his decision. Be creative! You may do this in the form of a letter, diary, or memoir.
Look at your source. If it were real, how would you use it if you were an historian? Explain. (class discussion).
